The town itself has good variety of shops, many having goods not available in The Holy Nation. Purchasing a Map to Mongrel prior to journey can help to stay on the right path. However, once you reach the town you will be protected by many powerful gate guards. Players may lose characters to the Fogmen on the journey if not careful. Due to its location, it can be extremely dangerous to attempt to reach it. Mongrel, the sole town of the Mongrel faction, is located in the middle of the Fog Islands. If you're lucky enough to make it to Mongrel, you're stuck in Mongrel. Shun was the first region that took my breath away, and I love it for that.People don't make a habit of visiting here. Looking at the marvels left behind by the Old Empire, and marvelling at how even such greatness is nothing before the vast sands of time that cover the landscape. I imagine being a Tech Hunter exploring the vast desolation that is Shun, spending days upon days wandering across its endless wasteland while being left with nothing but my own thoughts. With an endless coast and sprawling mountainside, one right turn into a mountain valley will have you bumping into one of the DOZENS ancient outposts holding an absolute fortune in lost knowledge and technologies, culminating in an Ancient Tech Lab that stands at the peak of a lonely hill. It's a place that has been abandoned by man, probably due to being in close of vicinity of the Bugmaster and the Crater, while at the same time in the most remote corner of the United Cities.ĭespite this, Shun stands head and shoulders above all the regions that surround it. No other place made me more aware of how much of Kenshi's world had been lost than Shun itself. It actually has a lot in common with the desolate North-west part of the map, but while the northwest has the awe-inspiring Leviathans and places like the Iron trail which are simply shocking, I actually feel like Shun provides an appeal that neither of them do. I haven't seen much talk regarding Shun recently, so can I just address for a moment how breathtaking the south-west is?
